Studio 280 is Truro’s newest space for learning about building connections with your mind, body and spirit. The idea and space are being guided by Lynn Marie Mattie who is a passionate advocate for collaboration within the Truro and Colchester County holistic and wellness communities. She is building a knowledge-sharing community, centred around the space at Studio 280.
Lynn Marie noticed Colchester County needed a dedicated space for people to gather, learn, and share experiences. She found space in an unlikely location and has begun an exciting transformation; Studio 280 is a re-purposed section of the Maritime Bus Terminal at 280 Willow St. Truro. This space offers wheel-chair accessibility, and ample parking at an easy-to-find location.
The main collaboration starting off the transformation of the space is between Lynn Marie’s own Arisma Holistic Herbal and the Joyful Yoga Collective. Studio 280 has a wonderful, bright floor space that is perfect for any activity where you can connect to your mind and spirit through the movement of your body. It is also home to a beautiful apothecary and space for astrological readings for Lynn Marie to prepare herbal and plant-based products and share astrological insight.
As Studio 280 gears up for a full schedule, there is room for a wide range of services to use the space on a weekly basis. In addition to movement-based practices, there will also be offerings of nutrition classes, lessons in herbalism, community acupuncture and and life skills, such as math classes.
Studio 280 is actively seeking practitioners to help lead holistic knowledge-sharing and wellness building. The goal is to be a space where folks can nourish their minds, bodies and spirits with everything from qigong to sound healing to permaculture education. A space to gather, share, learn and grow with intention will be available for rent hourly during the week for educators and practitioners who wish to have a consistent schedule without the responsibility of managing a space by themselves. It will also be available for longer stretches of time on the weekend if practitioners want to host a more in-depth retreat or workshop.
This is an exciting opportunity to help build something that will undoubtedly become the centre of Truro’s mind/body/spirit wellness community. If you have an idea for a class or retreat that fits the holistic/wellness community and want to know more about using the space, she is always excited to learn more and see if your idea will work with the vision. Contact Lynn Marie Mattie to learn more about what the Studio 280 space can offer you, your students and your community!
