Meet Alicia
The woman behind the Buzz.
What can I say? I love this town. I’m not originally from Truro, but saying that it has won my heart is an understatement. So much so that I spend a lot of my time running this business whose sole focus is to showcase how great it is to live here!
Born and raised in Newfoundland, I completed my post-secondary education at the Nova Scotia College of Art & Design. After an amazing four years, I returned home after I received my degree to be able to work in a variety of fields. Then, I finally found my place in Tattooing! It’s a career that has afforded me an amazing life of traveling, networking, and connecting with people.
I became a resident of Colchester County in 2014, and now I can’t imagine my life anywhere else. From the vibrant business community to the sporting events and street parties, there are more events to cover than I can keep up with! You can usually find me anywhere there’s a delicious meal or sweet treat, and I would love it if you would come up to say hi!

Meet Tanya
Chief Operating Officer
I was born and raised in Truro and have lived in North River my whole life. After attending St. FX for a BA in English, followed by an International Business diploma at NSCC, I worked at various positions throughout Truro — CoRDA, Centennial Pool, the RECC, and My Home Mercantile. I have enjoyed the local businesses and organizations that I’ve had the pleasure of working for, and I believe that, as COO of Truro Buzz, I’ve truly found my home.
Working with a group of funny, intelligent and driven women is not only my DREAM JOB, it inspires me to be better every day. I am passionate about promoting Truro because I have lived and worked here my whole life, I have watched it grow, and want to show off all that it has to offer.

Meet Anna
Hi! I’m Anna, one of the worker bees at Truro Buzz! I’ve lived in Truro throughout my entire life, and I love it more and more each year as I continue to discover the uniqueness our community has to offer. I’m currently in final year of my BBA at St.FX, which coincidentally, isn’t too far from home!
I fell very quickly for the fantastic team dynamic that Alicia has created at the Buzz, and I love having a constant reason to be involved with the community, even from a distance. It’s funny, Truro didn’t really seem so significant to me until I left for the first time to go away to school; that’s when I realized how much I love it there. The small, yet strong knit community makes it so special, and I am so grateful to be able to call it home.

Meet Mary
I’m originally from and spent the first half of my life in Fredericton, NB. I went to university in New Brunswick and have a BA in Philosophy and Women’s Studies from UNB. I came to Truro just over 15 years ago and although I was not expecting it, I fell in love with the town.
I have been working in the online sphere for almost all of my adult life. My career path has been a little chaotic but most of my time has been spent creating a wide variety of content for blogs, videos and social media. My goal has always been to make something new everyday and Truro Buzz gives me the chance to do that and more!
I spend most of my free time with my partner and our blended family, we have 4 kids, 3 cats, and 2 rats. I am an amateur nature photographer, my favourite photo subjects are mushrooms! I also crochet a lot, and could probably be referred to as “crafty” in the way that I have the audacity to think I can make just about anything with enough yarn, glue and patience.

Meet Bruno
I was born and raised in Mexico. I graduated from NSCC with a Business Administration Diploma specializing in Marketing.
I arrived in Nova Scotia in September of 2021 after doing my first year of college online due to the COVID lockdown. I quickly fell in love with the place and admired the extended hospitality and kindness of those who reside here in Truro.
I enjoy spending time with friends, going to the gym, and trying new things. I also love to travel and hope to learn more about this town’s history and visit more hidden gems in Nova Scotia.
